About me
For me, supervision offers a small island of calm and refuge in what can be the choppy, and sometimes downright turbulent, seas of professional practice. I invite you to draw your boat up on warm golden shores and take time to reflect on your recent travels, whilst gathering what you need to continue your journey. Getting your needs met in supervision can take many forms. You may want to take time to reflect on a stressful assignment. You may need to simply offload the feelings and emotions that have arisen in a specific booking. You might want to highlight a job that has gone well or celebrate work that has been incredibly rewarding. It’s quite possible you will arrive at supervision not knowing exactly what you need. No matter what you are looking for, by the end of the session my hope is that you will have got enough to launch you back out on the challenging ocean with a compass to guide and navigate by.
You have probably gathered that I like to work with metaphor in supervision! I also enjoy working creatively, encouraging supervisees to use images, objects, and drawing. These methods allow us to go below the surface of the spoken or signed content of the discussion and reveal insights we can’t always uncover through traditional means. However, be reassured that I also offer space for a more conversational style of supervision if creative working is not your cup of tea. The important thing is that you get what you need in order to find joy in your work and move forward as a resilient and empowered practitioner.
I qualified as a Professional Supervisor in 2016, via the 360 Diploma in Supervision. I provide supervision sessions both face-to-face and via secure remote platforms. I offer 1-1 sessions and group supervision. The supervisor/supervisee relationship is crucial to the supervision process and it’s vital you find someone who is a good fit for you. To this end, I offer a free 30 minute ‘get to know you’ session so we can explore what it is you are looking for and what I can offer.
