About me
When working with people, our professional lives are rarely neat or predictable. There’s no single rulebook we can all follow to guarantee the “right” decision every time. This kind of ever changing and uncertain environment can feel daunting and we frequently navigate this on our own, in real time.
This is where supervision can help. It’s a protected space, a pause button, where we can step back and reflect on our decisions, our worries, and our successes. It’s a place to ask ourselves not only what we did or might do, but how we want to feel and behave in our working lives.
Investing in my own supervision is a key part of why I so enjoy my career as a freelance BSL interpreter. Knowing that I have a regular, non-judgemental space to examine my thoughts and choices gives me confidence that I am working as ethically, and as authentically, as I can.
When I offer supervision, my aim is to create that same kind of space for you. I offer time without interruption, free from external pressures to explore open reflections and conversation. Importantly, this is a non-judgemental space and I will draw on various supervision practices and theory to support your explorations.
Together, we look not just at the actions you take, but the thoughts, feelings, and values that shape them. In doing so, your professional practice begins to align more naturally with who you are at your core, so the work you do and the decisions you make feel both intentional and right for you.
I work as a freelance BSL interpreter across a range of domains, with particular experience in Educational Psychology, Social Care, Domestic Abuse, and Performance Interpreting. My academic background includes a degree in Psychology from the University of Surrey (2000), along with Levels 2 & 3 in Counselling Skills (2023).
My interactions with people naturally include warmth, humour and a focus on the other person’s stories and my supervision style incorporates these traits.
